Rakau Ora Mental Wellness Services

Counselling Therapy

We are grateful for the support of Mahi Mahi Hauoura in providing four free counselling sessions to our people. We can help you activate your sessions if you have a referral from your doctor. If you do not have a GP, please do not be concerned; we can still provide assistance through the amazing Te Hiku Hauora Nurse coordination team who can also support you with  the coordination of other services you may need.

These sessions allow you to not only tell your story, but also provide you with mental health education on topics such as anxiety, depression, and traumas, to mention a few. We provide support from the Maori framework of Sir Mason Durie - Te Whare tapa wha. More information can be obtained by calling 09-4084999.

Kaimahi External Supervision

People seek assistance through some of the most trying times in their lives. A responsive, knowledgeable, and well-supported workforce supports  services and our people's well-being. External supervision is a comprehensive system of professional support that acts outside of the workplace to achieve this goal.

Our practitioner has over ten years of expertise in the field as well as personal lived experience. This allows our kaimahi in the community to engage in a nonjudgmental and professional  environment,  This process not only supports kaimahi to get the best results from their mahi  but also feel supported  in their own personal lived experiences.

Rakau Ora Consultancy

Rakau Ora assists businesses in the far north to better support their kaupapa and services. We recently had the honor of collaborating with South Pacific Pictures on their film FAR NORTH, filmed in Ahiparapara. Our role was to assist ten local trainees with their mental health and trajectory into this field on set. This was an incredible experience, with many people going on to work in the film industry.

We have also collaborated with leading services in the Far North, Te Hiku Hauora, Whakawhiti Ora Pai, Waitoma and the District Health Board, as part of the Kia Piki te Ora revamp.

To discuss your business needs around mental health please contact Vanessa at vkite@rakauora.org.
